embraces

I fall back into the body of the wind
a warm enough embrace to remind
me of others

the slick arms of wet rock
that let me fall into the hard
belly of the ground. captured by wires
sharpened to defend not to defeat momentum.

one spun me around and
stung my eyes with the gift
of her har, blowing
into the endless blue sky above
the blanket of dirt always
moving to a new home.

once a forest of trees
tried to adopt me. tempting
me away from my god with lightening, rain,
and soft slopes of greenery.
but my feet could not
rest where there was no
shelter, thunder called to my back.
I returned to be abandoned

there have been hands cradled close to a heartbeat,
a clock to measure kindness, but fingers relax
releasing to wildness and ruin.
